I'm glad to see Inktomi is staffing up to take the lead in search technology. Check out some of their hiring needs:

Search Relevance Engineer: [inktomi.com...]

Paid Inclusion Infrastructure Engineer: [inktomi.com...]

Or how about a Senior Engineer to be a member of the Search Toolkit Team that "is building a brand new, next generation, semi-structured search engine"

Or check out the whole Engineering staff hiring lineup at:
[inktomi.com...]

It certainly appears Ink is not going to let grass grow under their feet.

I worked for a aerospace company in CA years ago. They would regularly place employment want ads for senior technical people offering very high wages.
Not that they had any openings, just so they could "pump" the job candidates from competitive companies. You wouldn't believe how freely these people revealed confidential company information when asked at the interview. Sales, new technical developments, current projects, cash flow, inside problems, company gossip, ad nauseum just for the prospect of landing another job paying more $$$. My boss gained immeasurable insight into his competition - their strengths as well as weaknesses.
He also had a friend in the employment search business. He would have this friend call senior employees of his own company offering them another job with higher wages.
To those who expressed interest, he would soon find an excuse to fire them. He didn't want to chance anyone playing the same game with him.

Nice guy. One day he disappeared and left no trace.
