So I checked this against Pure Search - same result... Bare in mind this is a paid Ink. page and it is the root url.
Why would Ink. drop my paid url and replace it with a listing from LookSmart?
Actually I've just found another domain we have, that has not paid Ink. this also has a LookSmart title and description in Pure Search results. So it's got nothing to do with paying.
Has anybody else come across this one?
How can this happen? Ink only indexs 'on the page content and inbound links/theme' or so i thought.

It was being extensively used on paid pages but seems to have reverted on most (but not all) to the on-page title and description. Free pages tend to use the LS data more than paid pages.
Tim says,
What you may be seeing is your ODP titles and descriptions appearing. The titles and descriptions are replacing the crawled titles and descriptions on a small number of crawled pages. Looksmart titles and descriptions (which been used for quite a while) take priority over ODP. This does not affect paid inclusion URLs.

Better user experience maybe but I've paid good money to get a page listed and now have no control over it's targeting.
It means that a number of my clients sites are at the mercy of LS editors who have limited knowledge about the services being offered.
Even with free listings I can tweak targeting depending on the clients requirements at the time and see the difference in time. With LS listings there is no way of changing it.
What is slurp cat picking up?

Slurp still uses your on page data - I've tested this pretty rigorously in the past.
It should affect them all..

Yeah this isn't supposed to happen with paid pages... But it definitely is... I'll ask Tim about it in the other thread...
