I admit I am new to this but I have been reading everything I can find and still can't figure out how you know how you can figure out what your ranking is.
I know I am listed and my site shows up in pure search but when I look under my keywords I can't find it. So I am either ranked 100,000,000,000 hehe or I'm just plain stupid.

Wachia - welcome to the board!

Which engine are you talking about?

My first thought was AV; they make it a habit to bury newly indexed pages.

I think it's inktomi : pure search

may be a stupid question but have you optimised for INK

Hi,
Thanks for the welcome :)
I did everything I could find about optimising for Ink. Like I said I'm very new at this or I would show you my site lol. I always see different people say things like my site is in the top whatever and I just wondered how they know that without going through every keyword they use and doing a search.

So long as you paid that would be the first option, work on your title & description that's the best way to get ranking in Ink

I've been struggling to find good info on how best to optimise for Ink. Is there any one good resource that I could use? (free please!)

Hi Jaze & welcome to WmW

best place to start here :) and it's free

Use the site search & library it will give you loads of background information, but one tip with ink, work on a good title & description, that's just for starters

Thanks for the Welcome. Been lurking on a.i.se but seems to be a lack of in depth information coming from there as late.

My first post may disappear, as I realised the answer was directly above, and also discovered navigation :)

It seems as though Ink is similar to Google?

:)

I should have seen that as well :)

Yes your correct ink pages do seem to rank well with google as well, although google does take other considerations into account other than your current credit card details - sorry just had to get that dig in :)
