If I'm not wrong the Lycos InSite [searchservices.lycos.com] pay for spidering is outsourced to Fast Search & Transfer.

Fast is marketing this service as Fast PartnerSite [fastsearch.com].

Apparently the Lycos InSite spidering gets your results in AllTheWeb as well. :) That's nice if it's true.

I think you'll find it is a Fast service out-sourced to Lycos...

Hstyri
actually it's just the other way round. Fast's does not offer PartnerSite PFI to the user, but to its partner portals.
Lycos.com is the first of those to resell the partnersite bundle, PFI + sitesearch, under their own brand.

May I also invite you to take a look at the ongoing discussions in the
Lycos - Fast - Alltheweb [webmasterworld.com] forum?

No, it's not. Reading the Lycos info they outsource the service to Fast. From Fast's point of view Lycos is a reseller.

To some extent, we're both right. ;)

Yup - Fast provides the tech, Lycos does the selling.
