Please explain me why :
Why when I search for a 2 keywords phrase (without the quotes " " ) I get position 17.
If I search with the quotes - like this: "keyword keyword" I get position 4 !
In both case, competitor1, competitor2 and competitor3 have the same position and same url (Position 1,2,3) !
So I don't understand. If you can be of any help, It would be appreciated. Why does my competitors have the same position (with and without the quotes) but not me ?!
Thank you

Could the top three be directory lisings?
Can you present us with working examples of the quotes vs. no quotes and what portal you did the searches in...
If it's material you don't want to reveal here - would you "sticky mail" it to me?
Just in case: Sticky mail is the wonderful board communication system you'll find at the top of each page here - just send to stcrim

The answer lies in the way advanced search handles your query with quote marks. The quote marks force your phrase to remain intact on those pages in the results. If you perform the same 2 queries and look for a difference in the total number of matches found, you should see far fewer matches returned on the forced phrase search.
Regarding the top 3, pattern matching (content analysis) and Link Analysis (qualitative popularity) play a major role.
Lots of Luck!
