Sites gets spidered on schedule (paid 48 hours crawl), sometimes from Inktomi/cat, sometimes from Inktomi/si, usually from both, is cat = category, and si, = search inclusions? How does each display at serps, any patterns?
msn?, aol?, Netscape?
Does a Looksmart listing influence spider frequency ?

Slurp/cat is the standard paid inclusion spider but Slurp/si will turn up usually to check if the page submitted is an orphan page or if it has links to/from an appropriate index page.

Neither makes any difference to how they show in the SERPs (apart from if your page is seen as an orphan it will drop in ranking). A LookSmart listing only makes a difference to spidering if you are not in the paid inclusion program - as far as I can see so far.
