What are the major players that Inktomi hands out the first hand results from?

I don't think that's a comprehensive list.

For example, I know that in Japan Goo [goo.ne.jp] is listed, but not Goo powered sites like AOL NetFind [search.jp.aol.com] in Japan. Then there are other Inktomi technology licensees like TOCC/Search [tocc.co.jp] that don't show up on the list at all.

Adding to the confusion is the assumption that just because the US partner, like MSN, is using Inktomi that all of the localized versions are too. This isn't always the case.

I can't find it now, but I think there was a thread about this on WebmasterWorld. That's probably the closest thing to a comprehensive list of Inktomi partners there is.

Well, you can also get "first-hand" results from PositionTech [169.207.238.189]...and that's not on the offical Ink list. The TOCC/Search I mentioned above is "first-hand".

the list tigger gives is quite true.

however, cleanist ink serps are from hotbot.co.uk, then you have your various directory listings, which rely on looksmart partners listing scheme, then inktomi results.

MSN, LS, AV, IWON, EXCITE these are the tops, other than that INK really isn't important.

True hotbot is the cleanest but it's a shame the traffic isn’t there last month I got around 3% of my traffic from hotbot
