How imporant is inktomi?

I rank really poor in Inktomi. I don't know how this is impacting in any other major search engine. I rank number 6 in MSN for my Looksmart listing. I don't know if being number one in Inktomi may help me in moving up. I really don't want any chnages in my current site but if Inktomi is so important then I can create a new site just for Inktomi stuffed with keywords in meta tags. I need to know how important is Inktomi?

A good inktomi listing will not help your looksmart listing and I don't believe it will help you too much with any other of the SE’s (other than ink ones)although there is some talk going around about ink pages that are paid for also being picked up by google but I have doubts about this, for me inktomi is a important SE as it provides search results for quite a few UK based SE's so it's always top of my list very closely followed by Google

Your pages that are in Inktomi are they paid ones? If not that could well be the reason you’re not ranking well, the only page's (free) that do seem to rank well in ink are ones that have been around for age's

Why create a new site just for ink, work on your existing ones try for a title max 5/8 words (keywords 2) description max 20 words (again around 2/3 for the keywords)

You will also need to look at some of the submission services going around I use PT and find them to be very good.

What about MSN, AOL and Hotbot. I have 2 paid pages in Inktomi. Do you think these pages may rank well because of Inktomi submision. I am asking becuase currently listing in AOL and MSN is domintaed by Looksmart directories.
