Done a link check on my site yesterday and today. There are four new links compared to yesterday.

Yes, it has been updated. Thanks for the info. One of my sites that has been doing well on HotBot and MSN for months just appeared, and is ranking in pretty much the same place.

I'd been wondering whether Canada had a way different algo, a smaller database, or it was just slow in updating. At least in this case it seems that the latter is true.

Robert,

Each of INK's partners has the ability to tweak their search returns to their on liking. That's one of the reasons you really don't 9 billion search engines all clammering to deliver your pages when you pay INK for spidering. Their database is or can be re-tweaked by each INK partner before the results are delivered

Thanks... I understand that the Inktomi partner algos are different, as my comment indicated. There are often familial similarities, though. The size of the databases the partners get from Inktomi are also different. Some engines only pay for more frequently searched terms. I was trying to determine, in the case of Canada, what factor was causing the huge difference I was seeing. With the recent update, it seems likely that the most likely factor isn't the algo or the size of the database, but rather the frequency of update of the database.

Or, it could be that Canada just renegotiated its contract and has gone with a database that's larger, but I'm guessing this probably isn't what caused the change I saw.
