Nothing earth shattering here, but a good read..-G

Specifically, the company has added relevance, classification and ranking capabilities; content blending, which combines query results from disparate databases; and a distributed crawling architecture that scans the Web more frequently, company officials said.

Inktomi is also working with content providers to help them manage their content better, control how often their sites are crawled and ensure that Inktomi's database of Web documents is current, including pages that have XML or dynamic HTML content, officials added.

Well, next time Slurp drops by your place, kick him out and give him my address... if he's scanning the web more frequently, it must be because of the time he saves by never visiting us.
