Network Solutions Pay for Inclusion Service

same service, different details

I just noticed yesterday that NetSol is now live with their paid inclusion service for Inktomi. Same essential service that Position Tech is offering, but the pricing and other details vary a bit.

They ask $15 per page, instead of $10, but they allow you to include pages from different domains under one account, AND they allow page switching during the year. That last part's very good, because they only allow a max of 100 pages per account, where I believe PT allows up to 1,000 but all from the same domain.

Interesting, I was just reading that in DS's newsletter [searchenginewatch.com].

I sure don't see where there is any benefit using the NetSol program over pt or Webgravity?

Brett - The one benefit is you have unlimited url changes available - where with PT you have only one and WG (unknown)

In my case one is plenty so I'll take the price and quality service of PT anyday...

Last night I ran into the exact situation DS mentioned in his newsletter. 10 subdomain home pages to submit. $300.00 at PT. $165.00 at NS.

I went online, filled out the form, clicked the button and got the stock standard NS blank page. No confirmation or error message. Just a plain white page. I waited awhile and checked my email for a confirmation. Nothing.

This morning I called their Toll Free # to find out if my order had actually been processed. I was hung up on 4 times, before spending 20 minutes on hold.

After a human answered I couldn't get any solid confirmation on whether or not the charge will appear, nor could they provide any explanation as to the reason for the error. All they offered was to forward my tech problem to Ink and they would get back to me in a few days.

Some things never change.

Since Network Solutions allows you to switch URLs could youu submit a set of 10 or so, wait for them to list in Inktomi, then switch to another 10 pages? Or would the 10 original pages be dropped? It seems that once the pages get into Inktomi's database you could leave those pages as is and have them spider another set. Any thoughts?

DrCool,

Good thinking but no it would not work.

DrCool - Presumably, one good reason to use the paid submission, is to get pages to stick that don't have enough link pop to stay in by themselves.

If enough link pop could be built up after the paid inclusion, it might be possible to change the paid pages and have the original ones stick.

Sounds like if you go with NSI's program you could always switch back if the pages drop out IF you have better luck with the interface and customer service than WG had.

For the life of me, I can't figure out why I thought it I might have a different experience than I have in the past. It certainly was a reminder of why I spent all the time transfering all the domains I manage away from NSI.

In the future, regardless of the difference in price, I'll stick with PT.

Maybe I should I should change the sub-title of this thread. Webguerilla's report sounds like nowhere near the "same service" that Position Tech provides.

Does anybody notice that this now is also available at Positiontech?! You donīt have to choose a new domain anymore, just to add new pages.
