Hi,

Currently I own a few websites promoting <Products>. I do all the editing and stuff myself. However I want a site like this one <snip>. So I can add new <Products> easily, and also add or delete <Suppliers> for each <Product> easily. I also want it to have the searchable database. Basically I want a "clone" of it. So how hard would it be to build something like that myself? What skills are required? What does the job entail?

Please edit your post so that the URL is not included in the information. It is against the Terms of Service of this site to post URLs.

well you will need a good shopping cart type program, you will need to learn how to create and edit databases to be able to add and subtract products.
you will need to be able to combine all of this together into an easy to use website.

What you want to achieve could be done using a directory software program which uses templates for the site layout, the infomation for each site listing you add manually through the admin

do a search at hotscripts.com for content management :)

No you don't, all you are building is a small directory of affiliate links. What you would do is for each name of pill is to make a directory of the same name and place each site which sells these type of pills in it

What that would give you is www.*yousitename.com/pill_name/index.html, the index will contain the site listing if you have more than 10 links then it will make a index2.html and so on.

So would I be able to have a search feature? eg. they are looking for Xpill, Xqty and Xstrength, it would direct them to the page with the cheapest price for their criteria? Also how would I install the script? Im not too sure what script i am looking for ither. I was going to have a site like this designed for me but the price is quite high for me, so I am going to try and build it myself, but Im not exactally sure where/how to get started

I am fairly new to this too but I think if you find an open source cms, download it and study the readme you will find that most are fairly painless to install. Most systems have a demo where you can check out the interface and see if the focus of the system supports what you wish to accomplish. A shopping cart may work better, depending on your focus, and they seem to have about the same installation.

>>A shopping cart may work better

But you are not asking visitors to buy anything just to click on a link to the web sites you have in your database? that does not require a shopping cart

You could do this manually on static html pages but there is a lot of work on the maintanace side after you have built the pages, I know because that's how I started off.

A directory package has built in extra's like search, link checker, premium listing, keyword search log and lots more.
