I have a web site that indexes in the organic search results, but when you click on the link, the page cannot be accessed. I have submitted Internet complaints which are responded to by a technician that I cannot reply to. I have tried calling all the technical support folks and have had no luck. I've had 5 experts look at the web site done in FrontPage2003 (and I have a doctype and other modifications that I made after running it through GoDaddy.com optimization); all experts claim it's an MSN problem. I am absolutely at my wit's end in trying to troubleshoot the problem with MSN.com and am ready to quit. Please help me!

I am guessing you get a 404 error saying the page cannot be found? This probably originates from you changing a filname somewhere. MSN will have indexed the old filename and then you changed the name or deleted the page so that it no longer exists.

MSN will fix this next time it comes to index your site, but there is a fix you can do. You need to set your "404" page to your home page - this makes it impossible for antone to arrive at your site and see a dead link.

Assuming I guessed the issue right, It's not MSN's problem - MSN indexes billions of pages. They change all the time - it's your problem whether you like it or caused it or not I am afraid.

Thanks so much for your reply! You are actually the first reply that I've received (and this is the first forum that I've joined)!

I guess I'm not understanding. The home page previously was index and it is now index. The cache page comes up okay (with a date of 9/16). When I first began having the problem (in August), the cache page was from 8/26. So this problem existed through two instances of the spider crawling.

I must be missing something. If it's my problem, I can't find it! I really appreciate your thoughts on it. Thank you!
