I think MSN is indexing much more pages compared to Google and Yahoo.

i made a new website just 1 month back and the website has got 1800 results in MSN
500 in google
and 180 in yahoo

Now i must say that MSN is getting real fast and even we came in First 5 for many keywords we targetted and i am watching msn very closely and its giving me a change in SERPs each day.

I must say that there has been a great change in MSN and soon they will be providing a lot of traffic from their search engine.

I must say now >> I used to love Google
But now i love MSN.

Would like to hear from others as well.

And can anyone tell me about some tool which can show that how many searches are made on an average from MSN each day for a certain specific keyword?

I am an inexperienced webmaster. It is amazing that you got so many pages indexed by Google, Yahoo and MSN. I have also launched a site about a month ago. I have found that neither Google nor MSN have crawled my site yet.

Would you be kind to share your success tips with me?

It's simply a matter of obtaining links on web pages which are already indexed.

Further your education also by reviewing, and implementing the still very valid guidance located in the following thread:

Now, as to MSN kickin' and takin' names on volume of pages indexed, nice to know someone sees something more than I've seen. Many days msnbot is my sole contact with that realm.

German version of site launched 3 days ago, with links from each english page to geraman and vice-versa. MSN-bot was first to come to new pages about 12 hours after launch, and today new pages are searchable in MSN index by "myWidget deutsch".

Googlebot came in 2 days, Yahoo-slurp still sleeping.

So I love msn-search too :)

Update: just got first real referral to german-version of site and it was from Google. Just want to be honest, obviously MSN spiders and indexes faster in my particulal case, but Google was first to send a visitor.

I think its great to see some different results like the other SE they all look the same, here at MSN you get some other great results, thats what I like.

I have to agree and I love MSN too. The last few days we have seen a Google PR update so I was checking some statistics. I was suprised to see how well my site is doing on MSN. I have keyword phrases of two important words that give me a ranking of 2 and 3 out of 6 million, yet on Google I have a hard time to achieve any descent rankings and as a result I'm getting a lot more traffic from MSN than Google. It doesn't motivate me when I see the lousy results with Google after all that hard SEO work, yet the MSN results make me a happy webmaster. Well done Billy boy!

MSN seems to me to be more like search engines from 5 years ago. More susceptable to keyword stuffing for sure. I guess that suits some people!

Ha! Who cares, if it means getting better top rankings (and traffic) than other search engines.

What do you mean by 'suits some' in this context? Heck, any better ranking in any search engine is welcomed by any webwaster and if it's done with keyword stuffing (intentionally or unintentionally like in my case), who the hell cares?!

Who cares?

The end user cares for one.

If I get to the top of a search by stuffing keywords in a page then you can bet that there will be a heck of a lot more spammy pages in that index that will be of no use to searchers.

I often notice a lot of people saying that they are ranked highly in MSN but that they get very little traffic from it.

yea same with me i have 3 times my google pages in msn but msn isnt the most used SE if your gonna aim for something google and yahoo cause msn when was the last time you used msn (no offense to those who actually do but there arent many of you)

I launched my site 3 months ago and now I'm starting to get leads from msn with said search terms.

MSN likes on-page SEO and keywords in the URL (a lot). I can rank a site with 1/10th the backlinks of the Y/G top-10 and beat most of them on MSN (for a semi-competitive search).

Right now my new site is #1 on MSN, but nowhere in Google. I'm happy I'm doing well with MSN, sure, but the fact is I still get more visitors through Google Adwords than what I get through MSN. And I know Adwords traffic is only a fraction of the traffic that the actual-result pages pull for those keywords...

Oh well, I might be liking MSN a whole lot more when everyone is using the new IE with the MSN search box staring at them!
