Bing Top 10 Now Top 5 for Some Queries?

Bing embedding related search results, cutting down the Top 10

Checking Bing SERPS today (admittedly not something I do very often) I see they've started embedded search results for 3-5 related queries.

That's fine, but as part of doing that they are now show only 5 results for the primary query.

For example, see [bing.com...]

Seems like it makes it harder to rank for the target query, but could also be a way to get on page one for some competitive keywords.

Just curious how long has this been going on. I'm seeing it a lot for travel keywords.

Nice find burgeltz,

It certainly does make the first page for an exact term a lot smaller. At least the suggested related queries are indeed very related. I wonder if this is algo driven, or have they assigned related terms for certain queries. As you pointed out, it doesn't display results in this format for all terms.

IMHO nice results for people who are too lazy to add that extra keyword or two, it may actually make them think in future about typing what they do require rather than just a couple of words.

Very interesting....

I wonder how long it will be before they figure out how to drop PAID ads into each of those embedded results, diluting them further?
