Bing Adds Instant Translation Capability To The Search Box [blogs.msdn.com]
Use Bing to instantly translate queries from one language to another with our translation Instant Answer! Starting today, when you are looking for a translation of a word or phrase, go to Bing.com and kick off an instant translation, powered by Microsoft Translator.

That's neat!

That is neat - basic terms presented with correct Kanji in Japanese - French and Italian also looked ok to me.

Probably needs some colloquial-type tests though to really see what it can do?

I watched the Google Wave video for app makers and was pretty bored, until I got to the part where they showed its ability to do on-the-fly translation in real time. That made me sit up.

some differences in basic translation.

Why do use Bing instead of Google

english¦german (at least)
Bing: Warum verwenden Sie Bing anstelle von Google
Goog: Warum nutzen Bing anstelle der von Google
