[research.microsoft.com...]

It looks like it could develop into a useful tool for group research projects particularly. For individual users, it automatically saves searches privately, and you can choose to share your customized results with others.

Personally, I'd be interested in making vote used as part of the search algorithm. Your votes would also be given a "trustability" score which tells the search engine whether you are spammer or good person.

The problem with makingh it part of the search algo is the potential for abuse. It has been done many times before... originally a technology called direct hit, bought up by Excite.

Remember Excite?

StumbleUpon seems to have good assortment of links based on voting. You'd have to register to vote. Microsoft has Live they can leverage. I see Google is beta-testing a similar service starting yesterday.
