10..20..40% of the total MSN search?

I am seeing huge jumps of MSN traffic for the last three days!

Here is an interesting stats for one of my new sites about MSN traffic.

Before 1/12: almost no traffic from MSN
1/13 - 1/16: X traffic from MSN
1/17: 2X from MSN
1/18: 4X from MSN
so far today(1/19): more than 1/18 from MSN.

Since this is a fairly new site, I can see the traffic change very clearly. I guess MSN tested the Beta at the main MSN.com with about 10% rollout between 1/13 - 1/16 and increased that to 20% on 1/17. Yesterday it was 40% and today it looks like about 50-60%.

Anyone seeing the same pattern?

For my main site, I've been getting more hits from MSN in the last few days than I have from Google.

Though only 1% of the pages have been crawled from one of my newer sandboxed site, MSN sent tons of users in the last 3 days.

FYI, the site isn't in Yahoo yet, so this is great news for me.

same here. The site is in Yahoo and Google but get almost no traffic from them yet. It will eventually catch up on Yahoo but it will take longer on Google, I guess.

Dido on the traffic surge for me as well. Last week I was averaging a little over 100 referrers a day. Yesterday I saw over 700 referrers.

I have been building and building for the last 8 months now (NO SPAM) finally the work is paying off!

MSN could be the topgun in a short time if it makes all the webmasters happy. After all its the webmasters who are really responsible for making Google this popular.

Days could change for Google if it doesn't buck up quick and get its system working perfect.

If I get a great number of referals from MSN and if the serps are really outstanding, I would convince my network to start using MSN and word would spread soon. I believe it would be ditto for most others.

Ok, here is an update.

1/19: 5X
1/20: 4X ==> I think they scaled back.

1/21: 3X - 4X (if the trend continues so far today.)

"MSN could be the topgun in a short time if it makes all the webmasters happy."

Isn't the average satisfaction of all webmasters always constant, regardless of the SE? A lousy SE will make all the black hats happy, and all the white hats mad...and vice versa.

sorry, I'm just trying to be difficult ;)
