I have had a site bouncing around the top 3 of msn search for about 4 months and then suddenly its gone, this was 3 weeks ago and its still not back, everything gone apart from all the backlink results, I thought I may have had increased the keyword density too much, but I have reduced that down to what it was...... does msn let sites back in?

I've seen this happen a few times; if you still show up on the site: command, don't have heavily duplicated content, and haven't lost a lot of links recently, you should come back.
In fact, I'm seeing a lot of SERP fluctuations this morning (AZ time 8/2/06)...looks like some new stuff popped in and some old stuff fell quite a ways in my industries; are you back now?
