Three info sites, 20 years, 10 years, 7 years of age, in rather narrow niches, well-indexed by SEs, of average monthly traffic (about 100k each) and...

This month G referral dropped 15$

Bing increased 40%

Overall traffic drop was a modest 2.78%

I will be watching a few other sites I manage to see if this is an outlier or a sign of the times. If Bing is picking up what G is tossing aside, there might be good reason to work with Bing to grow that traffic.

Ads, after all, are ads, and you need visitors on site to see them. If G won't and Bing can...

Anyone else seeing shifts in behavior like this?

I'm certainly not seeing significant changes with Bing, but I do see traffic swings with Google.

I'd really like to see more traffic from Bing which would put it on the radar for all.

I do use Bing as my default search. I believe if i don't use it i'm not going to know how good or bad Bing is compared to Google.

I would certainly make sure my sites are getting the best out of Bing, and every other traffic source, where possible.

A key time for Bing and it's traffic is going to be this "Rumor: Yahoo may end search alliance with Microsoft [webmasterworld.com]" The outcome could significantly affect Bing and Yahoo, and who knows who else.

This month G referral dropped ...
Bing increased ...

But is that because Bing is getting better, or simply because more humans are using Bing as their default search engine, which in general has more to do with browsers and devices than with individual choice?

Good questions... with an obvious effect .. or at least one that I am track8ing at the moment ... that Bing is providing more now than in the past. While not on the OP topic, I'm also seeing Yandex up by 1%, and I'm not actively working in that direction at all.
