A web project we were working was indexed. The thing is the content it indexed my meta description and my meta keywords! This content was not in any body or title on any page of the site. Has anyone come accross this or are they really crawling META's?

Do any of the other major search engines crawl meta tags?

Thanks for the space,

From what I know, most of the engines spider the main Meta tags - as well as Title and Description they still look at keywords, even when they don't use them as heavy parts of the algo.

Microsoft has another motive for using the Keywords (imho) because they are also likely to combine the web search with local files, Local emails and Microsoft office documents... Guess what - Microsoft office documents have a "keyword" facility, even though most of us don't use them (yet). I think they will be working towards an integration not yet conceptualised by most SEOs.
