Just installed MSN Messenger 6.2.

During the set up process I am giving three options

1. Install MSN Toolbar
2. Make MSN Search my default Search Engine
3. Make MSN my default home page

So I would expect to see a saturation of the MSN toolbar over the course of the next few months.

Option 2 and 3 are the default Windows Setup anyways but if you install anything else, this would reset it.

Yes, I just saw this.

As soon as they started mentioning a Toolbar I hit cancel.

Just the same options you get, when you try to install Yahoo Messenger. Sad though..

When I got my email notification for this post, I clicked the link and IE fired up a new window.

I had previously installed the Yahoo! ToolBar and it detected that I had changed default engine back to MSN.

Battle of the tool bars begins?

PS - I haven't checked but it wouldn't surprise me if MSN toolbar was on Windows update - what a great way to seed its use.

I have stated this in previous threads but now it appears to becoming true.
