What could Mac OS could "borrow" from Windows?

Features 'missing' from Mac OS...

We use a small mixed platform network. I believe in letting people work in the environnement they are used to. We had some major changes here in January and one Windows user took this opportunity to switch to Mac OS. Tree months later, she knows that she made the right choice, but still have some problems changing some habbits.

Does anyone know how to put the close/minimise window command on the right side?
Is there some way to have a list of everything laying on the desktop from the dock?

If anyone know of shareware or freeware to ease transitions, or 'improve' Mac OS by adding some features, please let's share them here.

"Snard" by Gideon Softworks will do this. Never used it but I've heard good things.

MG, if you drag the desktop from the finder onto the right side of the dock, you'll have what you want for free. Be sure that you browse to the desktop through your home folder, just dragging the desktop alias won't work.

You can then just right click (apple click for you purists) on the desktop icon in the dock.

One utility I like is TigerLaunch [ranchero.com]. It puts a drop down menu next to your clock with all of your applications.

Why would you want them on the right side? Is she a left-handed mouser?

Not only does the left side of the screen contain the majority of menu items you use, its also much easier to reach with the mouse than the right hand side.

Simple, she got used to the right side for years. Hard to change old habbits.

I wish Apple offered this feature before they lauched the 'switch' campaign. They could have save on 'cought syrup' fees. :)

I believe it's just one of those simple details that caused a lot of switching attempts to fail. If I was working for Apple, I would have suggested Mr. Jobs to add a "I am a switcher, give me a break." radio button option at the first startup configuration routine. :)

Then why is the scroll bar on the right side?

In Windows you can right-click on an image on the web and see its pixel dimensions. That would be cool on the Mac.

Open an image in it's own window using Safari, and the title bar will give you the dimensions in pixels.

your_store, I cannot duplicate this with build 85. I have the image adress in title bar.
