I want to make some small modifications to a website of a friend. Tried to access the files with ftp. But what a @$%&@! If FrontPage is installed on the Server, ftp is blocked. No way to access and modify the files without FrontPage. What a stupid thing.

Searching one day long the whole internet, but couldn't find a solution.

Does in this formum somebody have a solution?

What Mac Utility could give me access to a FrontPage operated server.

Thanks in advance

As far as I know, you don't install Front Page on a server - just some extensions that a site designed in Front Page can call on. And having Front Page extensions installed on a server should not block FTP access. What kind of error message do you get when you try to FTP into the server?

If you use FTP to make changes on a Frontpage Web you're going to screw up things royally. You'll probably end up corrupting the whole entire site. If you know that the site is done in FrontPage then I would stay far away from FTP. Because there are a lot of hidden files that Frontpage uses/makes your only choice is to make the changes via FrontPage.

As for your solution, the best way is to run a PC/Windows emulator on your Mac and then install Frontpage and make the changes. I think there are demo versions of FrontPage available, which might be enough for you to connect and make the changes.

usually ftp access is not terminated when FP is enabled (and yes server extensions are installed for frontpage.

Besides FP is the worst excuse for website authoring out there.
