I have set up a widgets page, gizmos page, nuts page, bolts page with the various items. On some of them the user can click to see the details of the item. (We are not up to shopping carts yet).
Regarding the title and description of these pages:
Title is "widgets"
Description is "Widgets come in many varieties such as blue, heavy, small and are sold by "our co name".
For the detail page:
Is title "widgets - blue"
or
"blue widgets"
?
Same for description, do I start with Widget of the blue variety is sold by "our co name".
or
Blue widgets are sold by "our co name".
?
The supplier, manufacturer, reseller stuff I have been ignoring. We mostly sold b2b but web surfers hitting our page seem to be both commercial and retail.
One more thing, some of the products we sell have fierce competiton and I don't expect to ever be able to reach the top 10 or 20. However we are already in the top 10 for some of the products. Which products should I focus on?
Thanks everyone for your help.
For the detail page:Is title "widgets - blue" or "blue widgets"
and the description would go with something like
"blue widgets for doing things like this by Our Company name"
As for the competion factor, it depends on how much time and effort you want to put behind the site. If you can easily get some products high in the listings, then work on the higher compeditive ones.
