Well -- I made #1 rankings in Google finally---for a common misspelled keyword.:)What I would like is suggestions how to keep this ranking and correct the misspelling to show up in searches for correct spelling. The only incorrect spellings are off page 3 times, none in meta keywords.I guess the title must be pretty important.Just how much weight does google give titles? Would you create another page and change content around? Misspelling is getting quite a few hits according to logs,MWR is not where I want it to be though. Also what could one learn from this(if anything)for optimizing?

I was lecturing a college class one night and we used a real life example from one of the students. We found that thier brand name was very well known but that almost everyone was spelling it incorrectly. At first, I joked that whoever built your site must not have known how to spell your company name. However, it turned out that it was the anchor text of incoming links that was giving the site the #1 ranking of its mispelled names.

I thought that it was an interesting way to get high rankings for a mispelling even though they did not do it on purpose.
