Hi there,
Just wondering whether anyone can help - is there anywhere that I could find the number of searches conducted for particular keywords (and the same keywords but only used on UK searches).
I had a good read through Brett's post (http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum3/2829.htm) and went on the Overture suggestion page.

Just wondering whether there is:
a) UK equivalent &
b) one for Google-only searches.

I have quite a few terms to check out..so any one got any ideas?

Thanks in advance,
Will

PS: needs to be free ;)

Do a pretent google adwords -- you don't need to login or to pay money. You can limit it by country or language.

Once you get to entering keywords it tells you estimated clicks-per-day for each keyword.

That's only Google clicks of course.

Hi

Try www.espotting.com/popups/keywordgenbox.asp

It is uk based and gives a snap shot of searches done for a word across their affiliate sites.

From my experience, if a search term is not popular (such as less than 200 a month), it will state as 0. I have place bet for search term that appears to be 0 but actually have quite many searches. --> 200-500 a month.

What I want to say is if a search term is estimated as 0, it is nore really 0.

jpavery,

i realise..but is there a google equivalent, without having to go through all the adwords stuff.

I know there is the google list (Zeitgeist) of common terms, but these are not in-depth enough to provide info about the keywords I am after.

Thanks in advance,
will

As far as Adwords click estimates go, it is my experience that you can achieve close to 10x as many clicks ranking top 3 on Google as #1 on Adwords. It can give you a good idea as far as relative traffic to other terms though.

wruk999,

just spend 5 dollars on Google adwords, or whatever the minimum is for your amount of keywords/phrases. Wait a couple of days and you will have your breakdown, per region, per keyphrase, per language etc.

vitaplease,
I am unclear on what you mean. If I create an ad, pay the minimum, and wait a couple of days, what exactly must we do to view the stats you speak of?

cheers,
Hagen

Hi

Re overture search tool [inventory.overture.com...]

I think [uk.overture.com...] is a UK version but not sure. (Click search suggestion tool)

Be wary, it defaults to the singular, so if it says 15000 searches for "widget" this also includes "widgets".

HagenArnold,

Google offers you the choice of showing your advertisement for your keywords/phrases per country/language in various forms.

Basically after a certain while you will see the number of impressions/clicks for your campaign choices.

As low quality their suggestion tool is, as high quality their final differentiation will be, given that you have to choose which keywords/phrases to try out.
