Hello!
I have question regarding keywords and content creation. Should I stick to one-two-three long tail keywords from a broad topic while creating my post, or is it okay to create a one big blog post with a short tail and long tail keywords?
Example:
1. post with short tail keyword: what to take with you on a picnic (snacks for picnic, picnic fridge box, dishes for picnic, etc.)
2. post with long tail keywords: must have snacks for picnics.

Please advice.

Stick to long tail because natural language is the way to go.

Re: short vs long, imagine if I target either with this response to the detriment of giving a complete answer. Would that be helpful? Lets find out, I'll target "gain the short tail by mastering the long"

One does not go straight for the short tail, aim small miss small, but you gain the short tail by mastering the long.

Good luck.

Edit: and to be more helpful, your website's main topic is the short tail you're after. To rank well for that topic there is much long tail content to write so that you cover the topic well. Make sure your visitors react well to the pages you create by delivering what they expect, and a little more.
