typos/misspellings

might it be considered spamming to have, as meta keywords, a string of 6 or 7 misspelled permutations of a word? e.g., widgets, wijets, widjets, wigetts, etc.

btw: wow, i'm impressed by tedster reaching the 4000th post mark. you're now the pete rose of posts.

No it wont be considered spamming, but you wont get much results from it. When Altavista was still using meta keywords, it was for this search engine the official intended purpose.

Only older Search engines still use this meta as a relevant factor. Those older search engines have a very slim market share.

For efficient use of misspellings, I suggest you try a site search [top menu] about it. It was discussed many times with very good solutions. (make sure to search for misspellings, misspelling, misspelings and mispelling though.) :)

tedster resets is post count to 1000 every time he reaches 5000 posts. ;)

thanks for the info, Macguru. i was just worried because it seems there is this set of occult google-deathtraps/rules that the unwitting (me) are always in danger of running afoul of, even when there is little upside.
