The thing is, they want a twist to the site that may involve using some rather iffy keywords....like the one quoted above, that will have to be used across the site...and are also keywords that are relatively popular.
I'll not go flat out and list the sort of terms I have in mind, but essentially they may be interpreted by some dumb bot as a por* site, or something in that area.
The site will be targetted for those over 18, though I wouldn't like to be getting the site banned by going about using some "poison" words where perhaps another word would have done just as well.
As mentioned in Nick_W's thread about attracting the wrong people, same goes here, just that I also want to avoid the bots thinking that the site is PR0 and deletion worthy :(
Any advice? I hear of "poison" words that can flag a page.....I have never really looked into this or had the need to.
Feedback would be much appreciated.
The site is more orientated to dating with a bit of an adult "theme" to it
Obviously there are terms you want to steer very clear of, but I'm not sure you have anything to worry about. I suppose it all depends o the keywords they are suggesting.
Another option would be to keep the "questionable" terminology in page headers and other "easily separated" text blocks, and render it in graphic format... gifs done in non-anti-aliased text will blend right in with most "regular" browser text, without being spiderable.
I'm not sure using words like "pimping" is really going to attract the sort of audience you want
hehe, well I agree, not sure I would want to be the other half of someone searching for pimps ;)
It's just an idea they have about stirring interest......if anyone has seen Groundhog day and the bidding that was done on stage....that is the rough idea of it. :)
