Keyword conversion

how to convert a high ranked keyword into real business

This sounds silly but I have following problem:
I have on several of my web pages keywords which are related to my business and rank high in Search Engines, always on the first Page. (natural search - global US in a competitive market with big players)
How can one achieve a real return on this high ranking Keywords.
Marketing on its own is not my strong point.
Any Idea's are welcome!

Step 1: Define and setup your conversion & micro conversion goals in Google Analytics.

Step 2: Track the performance of the high ranking keywords against the set goals in GA

You can gain even more insights by applying city as secondary dimension to "determine your best converting traffic" :)

Thanks for your response, conversion is lousy if one looks at continental US which is most of traffic.
Local conversion is better as most searchers prefer a local business.
Nevertheless I find it's just no good to concentrate only on local business, that does not win the war. One has to try to gain more business
