Keyword Popularity Data

Hi, I have used a few of the keyword tools, wordtracker, diccovery ect, they all seem ok but I do not believe their traffic estimates.

Is is best to use these tools to find keywords and then use the google keyword tool to find the actual traffic estimate?

Also is there a best setting for the google keyword tool to get the best measure of traffic per keyword - should it be exact,broad ect?

There is no accurate way of finding keyword popularity stats. The only way this information could be available would be if all of the major search engines pooled their data.

Since Google is by far the biggest player I would assume that their data is as good as anyone elses.
