Keyword Density Question

Do keywords in title matter when determining density?

In that great 12 steps post by Brett not long ago he said the KW density should be between 5% and 20%.

When using the KW density analyzer at Searchengineworld.com you have the option of counting the KW in title and meta tags also. But you can also leave them out. Now, anybody know which way is better, or how do the SE spiders count the keywords?

Thanks, dan

The 5% to 20% is a wide enough gap for the title not to affect things too much.

If you mention the phrase once in the title and keep the title length at about 8-12 words you will be OK.

The time you spend fine tuning the KWD might be better spent doing another page with an alternative key phrase. IMO, but others may disagree.

Thanks 4eyes. I'll follow that advice.
