is ranking for keywords this easy?

I started to do some experiments with keywords like "local search marketing miami" in my wordpress blog. I also included many more content relevant terms as tags. I managed within 2 weeks to rank for all of the terms within 1st page serps in google. Some with 33,678,907 pages indexed for a phrase like
google miami. Can someone give me a logical or well thought out theory as to the reason this blog ranked so high so fast!

Creation of authority is easier in case of blogs than websites, since blogs can be readily made while all links and site authority creating factors remanin inbuilt.
