I recently posted a question in this forum about a disturbing anomaly in Google's AdWords Select popularity data [webmasterworld.com], which it displays as an estimated Clicks/Day metric. When the question received only one answer in two weeks, it occurred to me, "Hey, maybe nobody's using the tool for keyword popularity research, let alone for Google AdWords." I thought the tool would be a shoo-in for popularity data gathering, as you can plug in literally hundreds of terms at a time and get back what appear to be valid data.

So now my question is: do you use Google AdWords Select for keyword popularity research at all?

I haven't yet used it for keyword popularity checking as I know my current keywords I use. CrAzy though If I need it trust me I will ;) There always new sites coming out. Im not sure how valid it is, also i dont know how valid the overture suggestions are, but atleast overture spits out the suggestions on one screen :)

Back when I first heard about the new keyword tool that was going to be included in the new PPC, I was quite excited about it. But I got to say, it is a huge dissapointment.

I spent a lot of time testing it, and I found that often the numbers don't jive with the original adwords tool, and it also tends to return zero results for terms I know are getting searched on in Google.
