It's commonly recognized that titles, descriptions and keywords are not the most efficient way to get high positions in SERPs: they are much more for users than for SEs. Still I have a question. Imagine there're several sites competing for the same KW, owned by different people but made by one and the same company. Would there be any penalties from SEs if some of the pages from DIFFERENT (not within one) sites had the same titles and descriptions? Has anyone faced this problem? What are your thoughts?
