What is a good keyword density per word, 2 word phrase and 3 word phrase?

I used overture to find websites similar to mine and then used the keyword density analyzer on this site to determine their keyword densities.

The range for single words is anywhere from 9-20% with 12 seemingly the average; 2 word phrases seem to have a much higher density (some up around 30%) and 3 word phrases can reach 62%!

Yikes ;-)

It ranges and is different for each engine, but this is a good rule of thumb:

- Try to target between 8% and 20% (some may think that 20% is high, and it is for some engines, but on others this is the norm.)

- This is also relative to the competition and market.

Hi itrainu,

If you haven't already, you might also want to try using the site search feature (the link is in the upper left corner) to find some past threads on keyword density. It's been a fairly popular topic in the past. :)
