Does anyone have any notion if either;
a) A search button using a particular se on a site carries ranking / brownie points for that site with that se
b) Using the se's name within the html (such as alt tags) earns the same?

flattery works in many situations, but not with search engines, that I have heard.

There are some SEO sites that use this technique, don't know whether it actually affects the results though.

Thanks Guys

I am going to try a search link to Yahoo on one of my sites, and another to Google on another (I will actually hide them). I have a site that has a Yahoo link now, and it does stunningly well in Yahoo.

If anyone else wants to try this (or maybe already has) and maybe compare notes in a month, please let me know.

:-)
