Hello,

1,

I have seen a few websites that have the following
meta tags for keywords.

<meta name="keywords".......
<meta name="Keywords".......
<meta name="DC.Keywords".....

same applies to the description meta tag.

Is it worthwile including all of these?

What is the purpose of the "DC" in the third line?

2,

I have read in an old traffic grabber book about
reloading the title three times for example. I can't remember if it used different keywords for
the different titles.

Is this still worth doing or abit old hat nowadays?

Hi kevinbd,

Welcome to WebmasterWorld.

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, using mutiple titles/tags was a tactic that did seem to produce favorable results. However, it's not something that has much value today.

The DC in the keyword tag stands for Dublin Core [dublincore.org]. The Dublin Core is a metadata initiative whos goal is to delvelop common metadata standards that greatly expand the type and number of recognized meta tags.

Presently, none of the major search engines recognize the DC element set, so including them won't help your rankings.
