Do 'explanation' marks matter

Do they 'get in the way' of spiders/robots

I use them around 'titles' and 'names' (ie. Keywords) of items but wondered if they affected the visibility of the 'keyword' to spiders/robots. Any advice is much appreciated. TIA.

The characters used for punctuation are ignored. To a spider, a ! is no different than a blank space. If you take some time to test various searches with and without an explanation mark, you'll find that the results are always the same.

Some Spanish sites use, as first character of the title, their special character "¿", to be listed on the top in an alphabetic directory:

¿Hola?
