help with keywords & phrases?

can someone help me with keywords and phrases I really don't know what I am doing :(

My site is a message board about NYC. I really don't know what I am doing with the keywords or phrases :(

I appreciate all the help that I can get to get good keywords and phrases.

That is a very generic question. There are plenty of resources here, you can look at online help and training from places like search engine workshops. The best thing you can do is block off some time and just start reading old posts.

Looking for a stone in the ocean?

Ask around what phrases they would like to use in search engines to find you!

Then, find out if this key phrases has traffic to boost your website, if yes, try to avoid too general key phrases but get more local once.

How more specific you are how better your relevant traffic will be.

If this is not possible, you need to go for secondary keyphrases to boost top targeted key phrases.
