So how would I get it?
Well, I can reach Overture Keyword Selector tool, and I can reach Google.
Spreadsheet.. and lots of clicking back and forth, at the end I get a poor-men's verion of KEI.
Take the Overture search count for your phrase, and divide it by Google's returned page count.
Example:
Overture Keyword Selector Tool
Count Search Term
4,055 widget
Google returns 6,060,000 for widget.
Resulting OG Score (Overture/Google Score)
4,055 / 6,060,000 = 0.000669142
- - -
Overture Keyword Selector Tool
Count Search Term
1690 jetstream
Google returns 803,000 for jetstream.
Resulting OG Score (Overture/Google Score)
1690 / 803,000 = 0.002104608
- - -
Clearly jetstream is a better keyword then widget.
Well, what do you think?
Clearly this is NOT as precise as WordTracker, and it almost compares apples to Papayas. And everyone knows papayas are hands down better, as long as you have floss around. (Overture hits, Google pages).
But in a pinch this can help.
In my example I actually refer to it as the "OG Score" or "Overture/Google Score" - and not simply the "Google Score".
The Google element in the "OG Score" is the number of "pages" Google "results" returned for the keyword.
This number appears after a standard Google search in the upper right hand corner right after "of about".
