contact, about us, policy pages and keywords?

i have been told that your index page is 1 then any pages that are linked off of that one are 2 and any pages linked off of that are 3 and so on. Now imagine a pyramid with 1 on the tip.. that page should have very broad keywords and then 2 should be more niched example 1. art 2's, buy art 3. buy oil painting online. etc.

My question is what about the contact, policy, about us etc pages. Do you ahve to have keywords relative to those pages or can you use them to help boost your site with keywords relative to what you sell. So just add those words in those pages etc. Sorry if this is confusing in the way i asked but if i can get any help THANKS in advance!

I keep the content on that page relative to what the page is about. But that doesn't mean you can't *sneak* in a few keywords. It will even be appropriate at times. If you sell widgets, your About Us page may explain how you came about selling widgets. Your policy page could explain your policy on returning widgets.

Do you have a site map, waddsy? This is another good place to promote KWs. It also makes it easier for the SEs to find all the pages on your site.
