Does anyone know where I can get stats on which version of Netscape is the most popular with users?

Hello Teresha, and welcome to WebmasterWorld.

The only FREE source I know is Websnapshot. As with most web statistics, the sample may be skewed by their methods of data collection.

Can you even view that page in Netscape? It won't come up for me in anything but IE.

That should be a pretty big clue as to the - well - highly questionable nature of their data.

I was able to get it to come up in Opera when I spoofed as IE.

I think we've gotten 2 or 3 hits from NN6 users... NN4 is by far and away the top Netscape browser we see.

I view lots of various statistics of different sites on a regular basis, (mainly webtrends and Xtreme tracking) I see much more instances of Netscape 4.x than I do Netscape 6.0. If you are online quit a bit, try using Humanclick.com so you can see live who visits your site, you can see what browser they are using.

The CEO of Figleaf Software, Steve Drucker, mentioned that Netscape currently has about 10% of browser market. Siting CNET, Drucker said AOL has pretty much shelved Netscape, which could signify its eventual demise.
