Finally someone has had enough of the British governments web bigotry. Gateway.gov.uk is accessible only through certain versions of certain browsers and one of the webs most notorious browser bigots. The register had enough:

this is a long running topic in various by ways of the uk. Usenet hierarchy...consensus is that UK webmasters irritated by this should complain to their local MP citing the fact that this is another example of open access to uk.gov sites being ignored...and that it forces many blind or partially sighted users to buy and learn to use a whole new set of software, which is now illegal for a UK based website

this has to be jumped on from a great height, and fast

excellent

any UK based webmasters should be joining me in using the general election to stir a little bit of a fuss on this issue...it may be the last chance we get to prevent everything being handed over from HM Government to MS Government

simple things that can be done are...writing to/emailing your MP...writing in to Question Time on the BBC and suggesting a question (a pint for anyone who manages to ask about this on air)...emailing Andrew Pinder with a formal complaint
