Code issue with a form in drop down options.

Hey everyone.

I am stuck. I have a drop msg form. The first of the 5 options says Select ..... The second is blank to separate the options. The 3rd, 4th, and 5th are the 3 options in the list.

No matter what I do, when I choose the 3rd option, fill in the fields and hit the submit button, it goes back to the same page without generating the needed email. 4th and 5th options generate the email without an issue.

And when I rearrange the options in the code (make the 3rd option the 5th and move the others up) nothing changes. The third option still doesn't show but the 4th and 5th do.

FYI - I have changed the whole # sequence every time. It starts with 0,1,2,3,4

This is the point where I had to stumble away and apply cold compresses to my forehead:

Why isn't the table simply set to 540px wide in the first place if the first and last cells are always empty? Is there a background image involved? I suspect not, since this is very antiquated HTML with no CSS in sight. A CSS must exist, since some cells (though not the table itself) have a class name, but who knows what's in it. Seems as if it could all be expressed as something like

table.firstclass {width: 540px; border: none; border-collapse: separate; border-spacing: 2px; table-layout: fixed; margin: 1em auto;}
table.firstclass td {padding: 2px; width: 33%;}

assuming there's a reason for the border-spacing at all (as opposed to setting a cell padding of 3px and be done with it). Do the cells with a named class have visible borders or a different background?

The relationship of forms and tables seems a bit capricious overall. What does the validator say?

Thank You Lucy. I have taken this site over from another individual. I took HTML in college literally 12 years ago so I am no longer fluent with it.

I am just trying to get the site to work for now. I am taking a Dreamweaver Class in the spring to make my life much easier.
