Well still trying to solve this one once a user has used a password to download a file we need to then dissable access for this user unless he is issued with another single use password ideas any one please ..

I'm not even sure why you're thinking of it as a password.
What you want is a download token that allows one file to download one time and then expires upon a successful download.
Not hard to do at all, just need a programmer ;)

This isn't something that you can do with static html. It would require some server side programming and possibly the use of a database. If you don't have the skills to do this yourself and don't have a programming team on tap you might be better off looking for an external service provider. I don't know what is available, I have thought about this on a couple of occasions but it hasn't been important enough to me to do the research.

Yes it is proving to be a bit of a pain i can do password but not use once then disabled not to worry i may well be passing the site off to someone else that Thinks he knows better ( i know different) but when he comes grovelling back i will have some serious fun at his expense ..

OTP (One Time Password) systems are commonly used to increase security of plain passwords. Maybe it's worth to look into a ready made system ?

Thanks to all that perticular site is now out of my hands i am glad to say cus it is now full of flash crap so i am glad to be rid of
