Hi there,

Could someone please tell me what I have doen wrong here? I am trying to add alt text to an affiliate link image..

Here is the code I have used but it does not work?

<a href="http://www.awin1.com/pclick.php?p=00000000&a=000000&m=0000" target="_blank"> <img src="http://images.productserve.com/preview/0000/00000000.jpg" alt="This is a text that goes with the image" align="left" border="0"> </a>

Please explain what you mean by "does not work". Do you mean the text doesn't display if yuou turn off images? That's wjat is supposed to happen.

It's not supposed to - that's the function of a title attribute. Things got confused for a while because older versions of Internet Explorer incorrectly showed the alt attribute in a tooltip on mouseover - but that was always non-standard behavior.

So if you want tooltip to display, add a title attribute.

Thank's Tedster, that has cleared up the confusion for me..

Kindest regards.. David
