Hi everyone, am new to the site :-) hope ive posted this in the right section?

I am using a hosting account with a Sitebuilder tool.

I want to add the website to my Google Webmaster account, I can't use the Meta tag because my sitebuilder does not allow me access above the <body> tags.

So I have added a new page: www.example.com/googlecode.html and when I click the test button the page comes up in my browser - fine!

However when I hit the verify site button it reads: Verification failed, your file has the wrong content.

Here is the info.

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"> <html> <head> <title>google-site-verification: google[numeric-code-here].html</title> <META http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"> <META http-equiv="Expires" content="0"> <META name="generator" content="Trellix Site Builder"> <META name="TRELLIX_BUILDER_VER" content="1.0"><META name="TRELLIX_OPEN_SITE_COMMAND" content="http://twe01.build.sitebuilderservice.com:80SiteBuilderServlet?fUrl=f_error.html&sUrl=f_edit_page.html&Command=OpenSite&FileName=207538754194700236/site.xml"></META> <!--base href="http://www.mysite.com/"--> <!--/base--><script language="Javascript"><!-- document.isTrellix = 1; // --></script><style xmlns:local="local" type="text/css"> <!-- .vertical { display: block; } .homelink { border: 0; } --></style> <style type="text/css"><!-- .user { font-family: Century Gothic,times new roman,serif; font-size: 10px; color: #000000; } .sitetitle {

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Ah, the challenges of automated website building programs. The HTML verification requires a BLANK file named google[numeric-code-here].html

So get in touch with your host's tech support and find out how you can upload such a file to your server. I'm pretty sure you have a lot of company and they've heard about this need before.
