Long description is very important especially for people with disability like those who are blind.

It is used for giving detailed idea of what image / chart / graph is showing.

Generally the link to long description is given along with image/graph and at the end of long description page a link back to the page from where you came from.

It is also used with audio or video content along with detailed descriptions of the content in it.
